Convertion Coating Magnesium Alloys

Convertion coating process is applied by immersion into tanks containig convertion solutions which, in contact with the part, produce a hexavalent chromium protective film on the surfaces of item. Generally applied on the bonding surface to garantee electrical continuity. Convertion coating enhance the corrosion resistance and paint adhesion features for organic coatings.

Unlike anodizing process, convertion coating does not change dimensions and, thanks to easy application during assembly and MRO activities, is used for touch-up or anodizing restore.

Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection

Fluorent penetrant inspection is a non-destructive testing generally used for metal materials but, in case of specific technical requirments, can also be used for no metal materials.

With high sensitivity and precision, the inspection points out and make evident open discontinuty such as cracks, porosity and corrosions, although very small dimensions. The inspection is not applicable to porous materials.
